Eco Village Farm Fall Harvest Festival

–POSTPONED due to wet weather. New date TBD.–

Crisp nights, the crunch of fallen leafs underfoot and the bounty of the summer growing season. It’s time to celebrate the autumn season and this year I’ll be at the Eco Village Farm Learning Center as part of their Fall Harvest Festival Celebration and Fundraiser happening on Saturday October 17 from 10am to 5pm. I’ll be demonstrating soapmaking and have some of my soap there for sale.

But lots of other things will be going on in addition to that: petting zoo, farm tours, hay rides, pumpkin carving, face and plant pot painting, beekeeping demonstration, a raffle and lots more! The keynote speaker will be Carl Anthony, currently the Senior Ford Foundation Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley. The suggested donation is $25/adult, $10/senior/students, FREE for children under 3.

Located in Richmond, California, the Eco Village Farm Learning Center strives to give the residents of the San Francisco East Bay practical knowledge and skills that will help them live more sustainable and healthy lives, and protect the Earth’s natural resources.  The Center runs summer day camps, school programs, apprenticeships, a Community Supported Agriculture program and sells its organic produce at a weekly Farmer’s Market in Richmond.

If you are in the area, I hope you’ll stop by and say hello.
