Why soap?

So, this one is going to be short and sweet and to the point:

Mixing up some soap

Why do you like to make soap?

I’ll start:

1. Handmade soap makes my skin feel great and I don’t need to use lotion. (I am very low-maintenance that way.)

2. I love exercising my creativity on something so practical. Use it up; make more!

I’m looking forward to all the responses! Please leave a comment and tell us why you like to make soap.

  1. Aside from the point that it’s my perfect balance to life as a painter, I love to cook, make things that smell good and share with others what I’ve made. Makes for a clean and delicious smelling crowd ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. What started as a Mom trying to learn something that would help her children with acne and skin conditions, has become my passion. Making soap has become a stress reliever for me. When I can’t make soap for one reason or another, I feel lost.

    • Ah, yes. It’s like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! And it helps that each of us has our own definition of “perfect”. That way even if you find your “perfect” bar, I can still keep looking for mine! ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Mostly, I love soaping since I know exactly what is going into the bars. I control all of it – the oils, butters, scent, colors! Plus, once my hubby realized how easy it was to make and how it made his (and my) skin feel, we haven’t looked back.

  4. I make soap because 10 years ago (post grad school), I was looking for something to MAKE and gift to my friends & family that would be used & then disappear (not contribute to anyone’s clutter). It’s really the perfect gift since EVERYONE needs soap. What I didn’t expect is what a wonderful creative outlet it would be (the endless choices of color & scent & design) and also that it would literally turn into my ideal career!
